This weekend, two leading bands in Kenyan Gospel industry went down to Mombasa to give the residents of the coastal city to a treat. Starting Friday the event dubbed ZiAda was hosted at MPC 4-7pm, Saturday 3-6pm at LTC and Sunday MPC in the morning and ICC Mombasa in the afternoon.
These two bands, each inspiring the other in their different styles and unique sound. With songs like Breathe, Uwezo, Safari, Mwanga etc, it has been nothing but uplifting to listen to their music. My TL was filled with a lot of praise for @ZidiTheBand and @Adawnage. It is truly an honour for me to know some of their members on a personal level having interacted and come to know them as just simple humans like me and you. More about ZiAda here with @el316
I didn’t manage to make it for the ZiAda event but as I was calling around to catch-up with how the gig went, this morning, I received a call from a friend of mine, she told me that Frank, one of the Adawnage members has his father unwell suffering from Melanoma (Skin Cancer). I could only imagine what it is like to have someone be a part of a great team sacrificing their time, effort, money, to come and offer us a free event where we have a chance to connect with our God.
The two bands and some of their friends (@Number8_KE, Webi, Pitch five Revelation among others) have decided to come together to raise funds for Frank’s dad so that he can get treatment. This will be through a concert dubbed Breath Of Life.
